  Evolution vs. Watchtower Society

  a few months ago i had a part in the service meeting about evolution.

  it was based on the reasoning book's entire section on the topic.

  my conscience bothered me because it was the scientific method and science in general that led me to doubt my beliefs in the first place.

  6 screens of the wt has this as their website banner but that website is like a tabloid newspaper..

  i don't know which is worse.... dubs that drop by unanounced and want to confront you on your inactivity and your apparent lack of zeal for truth and love of jehovah, thus setting up a potential argument that could get ugly real fast.

  dubs that drop by unanounced and feign friendship, chatting away like old times, yet they've got a bible in their hand and they insist putting wt/awake mags in my hand before they leave (like i can't download it for free from the internet) and since they've been friendly enough it would be bad form to jump their shit and antagonize the situation.

  knowing they're indoctrinated, i'm sure that they're actually trying to be sincere in their efforts.

  Nice Dream;

  make sure that your curtains are always drawn & if at all possible keep your radios/stereos off all day. never, do yardwork in the day time, but try to schedule during meeting times. if the door bell rings, tip-toe as quiet as possible up to the peep hole in your door and never answer your phone, screen all calls.

  anyway, recently i remember reading a post somewhere that someone said that a regular pioneer seen a ufo or believes in ufo's.

  i apologize for making a new thread but i cannot remember exactly where someone said this or exactly when that was..

  the next new light from the f&ds could be the tithe for jw's.

  it's a logical corporate decision , needed to replace the lost income stream from the publishing side of the wt business.

  they know that the kh has many inactive slugs who don't contribute any $$ to the business, so this would be the best way to milk $$ from the inactive ones.

  ohh, don't be so sure battar. the BORG is very, very effective in manipulating scriptures into some kind of new understanding. as more & more faders wake-up the exodus will increase. the BORG will find itself in some kind of ''cash crunch''.

  there could be watchtower studies on 'tithing' to make the rank & file convinced that 'tithing' could be compulsary. should you fail to comply with the new understanding, this new doctrine could be enforced to make 'tithing' compulsary or face the wrath of a cult.
